Sorry I get It. everyone using facetime has to record its email address. I guess Apple has servers acting as a registrar. and Face Time gets a key to register. This key is confirmed through an email you recieve when you record your email address. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4319

Ok Then I feel like Lisa.
I have an Email account configure i’ts used as an id. But imagine some ugly people configured my account, or just an account with the same email address than me. How can Face Time get sure the call will end on the right person ?
I’m clearly confused … ???

I can’t figure out how face time finds the person you are calling to face time. Seems the contact needs to have the email and phone number entered for it to work. It must register these identifiers with apple so it can find the phone on the Internet. ??? Am I confused?? Can someone explain this to a stupid person?

I just made a Facetime call from a new iPod Touch to iPhone 4 but it did require a configured email account. Also found that I couldn’t connect a Facetime call with my iPhone to an iPhone that didn’t have email set up on it. Pretty amazing feature for an iPod.

After seeing the incredibly pathos-laden marketing foo about dads seeing their kids grow up, I thought Facetime was not for me. After having recently fallen in love with a woman who also happens to have an iphone4, I have revised that sentiment. Facetime is <3.

My wife is in Brazil at the moment, and we are having regular FaceTime calls with excellent results. I click the FaceTime button on her contact info.
