It seems that my local BT exchange has been acting up. This explains why I’ve been seeing downtime randomly for the last few days, and hence why connection to the site have been timing out.

On the university front, I got the project that I wanted, and indeed one of the few that struck me as really interesting, titled “Peer-to-peer audio conferencing”. A brief project description can be found here. This, combined with my module choices perhaps becoming IR5 (Information Retrieval), and DIP5 (Digital Image Processing), my timetable seems to be settling down. There’s still a lot of work to get through, but there’s a comforting sense of order. This, combined with Compsoc finally getting up and running officially as of today, things are looking good.
