It only took me a little over four months, but I finally sat down and ploughed through the more-than-1,500 photos I took while travelling around Europe. A selection of the decent ones are up on Flickr.

What prompted me, indirectly, to get around to putting up some of my Europe photos was my purchase last week of 1 Fujifilm Finepix s6500fd, for ~£135 thanks to a discount code from Ben. I’m not so serious about the photography that I wanted to spend a lot of money on it, but I’m serious enough that I knew I could do so much better than my old Sony Cybershot DSC-P93, now more than three years old as it is.

I’m still waiting on the memory sticks for the new camera to arrive (xD-Picture cards? Sigh.), but the internal memory is enough that I’ve been able to play with the camera and see what it can do.

So far, I’m quite pleased. More practice necessary, but I’m looking forward to getting some good pictures out of this thing.
